In order to implement the Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1983, according to the second chapter of the Ordinance, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) was created under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridge and since January 1988, the Authority has started its activities.


The office of the BRTA is located in Rajbari Deputy Commissioner's Office. All BRTA services are provided on the official working day.

1. Every Monday, the biometrics are accepted for the digital registration certificate and delivery is made.
2. Each month, the two biggest numbers (excluding Patabi) are added to the digital number plate motorcycle.
3. Everyday an applicant receives an application for a driving license and a student is issued.
4) Two scheduled / regular boards (according to the date mentioned by the learner), an irregular board or a professional renewal board are held in the month.
